De Shimano BB-MT501 trapas op het niveau van de Deore serie zorgt voor een soepele rotatie van de trapas, wat de aandrijfefficiëntie ten goede komt. Bovendien verlengt een speciale afdichting de levensduur aanzienlijk. De lagercups met BSA-schroefdraad zijn perfect afgestemd op de interactie met Hollowtech II cranksets.
